What is a Patent Right and What Does It Provide?
A patent is a 20-year monopoly right granted to the inventor by law in return for the disclosure of an invention to the public. With this monopoly right, third parties cannot produce the “patented invention” for 20 years and cannot use it for commercial purposes in any way. Thus, the owner of the patent right becomes a monopoly in the relevant sector. It contributes to science and literature by explaining its invention to the public in return for the monopoly right provided. Inventions that are industrially applicable, inventive and new all over the world are patented. This patenting process is also called patent registration.
